Tech
Here's a list of all the tech groups and a little more about them!!
Sound
Working sound for the drama department doesn’t only mean learning how to operate a soundboard and speakers, but getting to create cool sound effects for productions. You also get the chance to be the world’s coolest DJ, picking out music to play before and after shows. Those who know how to work the sound board may also get paid to run sound for other MV events!

Lighting
Lighting focuses on illuminating the stage and setting specific ambiences to enhance each scene along with the actors’ emotions and expressions. As you get into the design process, you’ll be able to explore different color schemes and lighting methods and build cue lists while working closely with actors during rehearsals. Join lighting and you’ll be able to work backstage in productions with spotlights, lightboards and hanging up actual lights in both the blackbox and the auditorium!

Props
The props department offers an incredible and enjoyable avenue to channel your creativity and artistic talents. Working with props provides a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with directors, actors, and various technical teams, contributing to the seamless execution of the production. Beyond its role in backstage support, the props department allows you to craft a diverse range of items – from regal thrones to pirate steering wheels and even intricately designed skulls. This dynamic role also invites you to explore various materials such as wood, lock-tight adhesives, and spray paint, opening doors to a multitude of creative possibilities.

Marketing
Marketing is great not only for technicians but for actors who have a creative or business side, and anyone outside of the department who wants to get involved. Help manage our front of house by selling tickets, promoting our shows both online and around school, and creating our show memorabilia: playbills, sweatshirts, and posters. Marketing gives you experience you can take into any leadership or event planning position in the future, and most of all, is super duper fun and low commitment!

Costuming
The costuming team is a great place to channel your love for or even a slight interest in fashion design. No skill level is needed to start, as mentorship is provided in everything from taking actor measurements to building and proposing costume themes for productions. We collaborate to bring unexpected pieces and uniquely symbolic designs to the stage.
